About Sarah W. Hale, MA, MFT-LP
As a relationship therapist, I help individuals, couples, and families navigate life's most challenging transitions and relationship struggles.
Whether you're facing a breakup, divorce, dating frustrations, communication difficulties, family conflict, addiction in the family, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, my goal is to help you better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change.
My work is informed by more than a decade of studying, writing, and facilitating conversations about relationships, personal growth, and life transitions. Since 2016, I have hosted The Interrelate Project podcast, exploring the complexities of human connection through conversations with therapists, researchers, coaches, and individuals navigating change. I have also worked as a relationship coach, helping people build healthier relationships, navigate dating and partnership challenges, and develop greater self-awareness.
My path to becoming a therapist is rooted not only in professional training but also in personal experience. At 30, I found myself rebuilding my life after the end of a decade-long marriage. That experience inspired my 2022 book, How to Change Your Life, and continues to inform my work helping others navigate change, loss, and new beginnings.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I believe our struggles rarely exist in isolation. The challenges we face in dating, marriage, family life, addiction recovery, and personal growth are deeply interconnected. By understanding the patterns and relationship dynamics that shape our lives, we can create healthier ways of relating—to ourselves and to the people we care about most.
I take an integrative, systemic, and collaborative approach that combines evidence-based therapy with genuine curiosity, compassion, and practical strategies for change. Together, we work to build insight, strengthen resilience, and create healthier patterns in relationships and everyday life.
My professional training includes a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Syracuse University, Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapy training, and certification as a Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
I work with clients throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
