Looking for couples therapy in New York? I provide virtual couples counseling for partners across the state, helping couples improve communication, navigate conflict, rebuild trust, and strengthen their relationship.

Every relationship experiences challenges. You may find yourselves having the same argument over and over, feeling emotionally disconnected, struggling to rebuild trust, or wondering how two people who care deeply about each other ended up feeling so far apart.

Couples therapy offers a space to slow down, better understand what's happening beneath the surface, and begin creating healthier ways of relating to one another.

I provide couples therapy for clients throughout New York, helping partners strengthen communication, navigate conflict, rebuild connection, and move through life's transitions with greater understanding and intention.

Whether you're dating, engaged, newly married, in a long-term partnership, or navigating a second marriage, therapy can help you move beyond reactive patterns and toward a more connected relationship.

Is couples therapy right for you?

You don't have to be on the verge of separation to benefit from couples therapy.

Many of the couples I work with are experiencing challenges such as:

  • Communication that quickly turns into conflict

  • Feeling disconnected or emotionally distant

  • Recurring arguments that never seem to get resolved

  • Difficulty rebuilding trust after betrayal or infidelity

  • Navigating parenting, caregiving, or family stress

  • The impact of addiction or recovery on the relationship

  • Intimacy concerns

  • Blended family or second marriage challenges

  • Major life transitions, including career changes, relocation, or becoming parents

  • Questions about whether to stay together or separate

Some couples seek therapy during a crisis. Others come because they want to strengthen an already healthy relationship before small issues become larger ones.

Wherever you are, therapy provides an opportunity to better understand one another and build a stronger foundation moving forward.

My Approach to Couples Therapy

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I view relationship challenges through a systemic lens. Rather than focusing on who is "right" or "wrong," we explore the patterns, communication cycles, and emotional dynamics that keep couples feeling stuck.

Together, we'll work to:

  • Improve communication and reduce defensiveness

  • Better understand each partner's perspective and emotional experience

  • Strengthen trust and emotional connection

  • Develop healthier ways of navigating conflict

  • Identify recurring relationship patterns

  • Build practical tools that support your relationship outside of therapy

My style is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. My goal is to create a space where both partners feel heard, respected, and understood.

Couples Therapy Informed by Specialized Training

My work is informed by an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from systemic, experiential, and cognitive behavioral family therapy models. In addition to significant graduate-level training, I have completed Level 1 training in the Gottman Method, an evidence-informed approach to helping couples strengthen communication, deepen friendship, and navigate conflict more effectively.

Every relationship is unique, so therapy is tailored to your specific needs, goals, and circumstances.

Why Work With Me?

My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by both professional training and lived experience.

Before becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist, I spent more than a decade working in storytelling and communications. Understanding how people communicate—and the stories we tell ourselves and each other—continues to influence the way I approach therapy today.

I've also experienced significant life transitions, including rebuilding my life after divorce, changing careers, moving across the country, and creating a new chapter through remarriage. Those experiences reinforced my belief that meaningful change begins with greater self-awareness, healthier relationships, and the willingness to approach ourselves and each other with curiosity and compassion.

Clients often tell me they appreciate my calm, thoughtful, and collaborative style. My role isn't to take sides or decide who's right. It's to help you better understand one another and create lasting change together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do both partners have to want therapy?

Not necessarily. It's common for one partner to feel more motivated than the other initially. We can discuss your concerns during a consultation.

Do you work with married and unmarried couples?

Yes. I work with dating, engaged, married, long-term, and LGBTQ+ couples, as well as partners in second marriages and blended families.

Do you offer discernment counseling?

Yes. If you're uncertain whether to continue your relationship or separate, discernment counseling can help you thoughtfully explore your options before making significant decisions.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider. Many clients use their out-of-network benefits, and I can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance company to understand your coverage.
